Don Kenney opened the first Cross Country Inn motel in Columbus, Ohio, the first property in what became a first-rate, limited-service hotel chain that grew to more than 3,000 rooms across 30 properties in Ohio, Kentucky, and Michigan, and was valued in excess of $113 million.
Columbus real estate developer Don Kenney has sold his hotels as he winds down the 15-year run of his Cross Country Inn chain. Don Kenney sold seven Cross Country hotels and a Super 8 motel this month in a 10-property deal for $28 million to an investor affiliated with a Chicago-area bank.
