Created over 70 years ago, Toys “R” Us became the No. 1 store for toys, clothes, video games, and baby products for children across the United States. Fun fact: The chain originally started out as a children’s furniture store. However, when Amazon and other online retailers came to market, Toys “R” Us began to lose its steam. In September 2017, the chain filed for bankruptcy and began closing stores. In January 2019, the company reemerged as a new company, Tru Kids.
